FAQ in ballooning

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about our balloon flights in Belgium. If necessary, do not hesitate to contact us for more information (mobile phone: 0472 222 333).

What is the best time of year to fly? Not so easy to answer! We fly all year round, of course when the weather is suitable, whether that be in February, July or October. Do not be misled into thinking the summer is the best period because other times might be cold. It is far warmer on the flight that you can imagine because there is no breeze (you are in the breeze), and you have also radiated heat from the balloon burners. Ballooning usually take place in stable weather conditions, with light winds on the ground, no rain and a rather good visibility. Please bear with us if your flight has to be postponed or relocated due to weather conditions.

Last pleasant moments..

Is there an age limit? There is no real age limit, our youngest passenger was just 3 years old: he was very busy looking through a small opening in the rattan basket ! Under 12, children must be accompanied by one adult. In fact, you must be sufficiently agile to climb in and out of the basket, which is about 40 inches (1 meter) high. Our crew will help you if necessary. Our oldest passenger was 101 years and 10 days old!!

Are my children allowed to fly? Yes, of course! We propose reduced rates for children. Remember that an adult must accompany every children on board.

Can I overfly my house, town or village: the answer is yes! Our "private flights" allow you to choose the departing point: why not your own garden? On the other hand, where the balloon goes is entirely dependent on the wind, no two flights are the same: so be ready with your camera just after take-off!

What happens to friends and followers who are not flying?

They are welcome to watch the balloon launch. It is also possible for them to follow our retrieving vehicle along the balloon path, allowing plenty of pictures and videos of the balloon landing.

Inflation in misty weather in south Belgium

Can I participate to inflation procedures?  Yes, indeed! One of the interesting sights of ballooning is to assist the crew with inflation. We have experienced ground staff, but we can understand that some of you want to be more involved! Even after the flight, you may want to step inside the envelope to get a different view and feel the warm air on your face. But if you prefer, you can just watch! If you are really interested in learning how to fly, join our training school! Are you ready to fly? Let's go to our booking page now!

Can I take a camera on board? Yes, best moments are of course balloon inflation, but last moments before landing - just before sunset - are magical!

Medical conditions to fly? Our pilots are not qualified to express an opinion concerning your fitness to fly: the best is to see your doctor if you have any doubt. Just remember it is not recommended to fly if you are pregnant or under the influence of alcohol or any drugs.

What time of the day the flights take place? Balloon flights usually take place within two hours of dawn and around two hours before dusk, as this is when the air is at its most stable. Times will vary throughout the year with sunrise and sunset.
